I am sharing a unique khichdi called Hyderabadi khichdi. The basic khichdi is a simple mix of rice and moong dal cooked with a ghee seasoning of cumin, ginger, green chilies, and turmeric powder.

  1. Boil water and add all the dala till it is half done
  2. Wash rice and boil along the dal
  3. In a pan heat oil and temper cumin seed bay leaf and red chilli
  4. Add ginger paste and saute well add cumin-coriander powder and red chilli Powder and mix well
  5. Add tomato puree and saute well adding salt and turmeric powder
  6. Add green chilli paste and sugar and mix
  7. Add this masala into the pot boiling daal and rice
  8. Serve hot with fried vegetables.
