Musubi is a popular Hawaiian snack found all over the Hawaiian islands, at convenient stores and gas stations. Its origin is Japanese omusubi, which is steamed white rice formed into rice balls and wrapped with nori or seaweed. Open SPAM can and remove SPAM, set aside.   13. For the coleslaw, mix the shredded cabbage and nori into a bowl.
  14. Add the rest of the ingredients of the coleslaw, and mix together.
  15. Insert a cling wrapper into the spam container.
  16. Assemble the layers into the container, starting with the rice, then the egg (you can add additional Japanese mayonnaise), coleslaw and spam. Make sure they are intact by pressing each layer with a spoon.
  17. Pull out the spam musubi layer through the cling wrap.
  18. Remove the cling wrap and wrap a nori at the middle of the musubi. Use Japanese rice to paste together the edge of the nori.

In another pan, combine Soy Sauce, Mirin, and Sugar. Bring to boil over medium-high heat and then reduce to low. Add the SPAM slices to the pan and make sure they are coated in the sauce. Use the Spam tin as the Musubi Mold. You don't need to have a special rice ball mold.
