Instructions to make Matar Paneer
#matarpaneer:
- Heat butter and oil in pan add cumin seed.. Add chopped onion sauté till soft,then add ginger garlic crushed sauté till raw smells leave, then add all dry ingredients turmeric powder,chilli powder,coriander powder,garam Masala,cumin powder cook till oil separate.
- Then add the tomatoes i also used some from tin tomatoes (optional) cook well. Then use the hand blender and just crush it don’t make it a purée just add little water according to the consistency.. Once cooked add the paneer and peas and cook for while.Add salt to taste
- Then add the Cream and kasuri Methi and cook for few minutes and add the slit green chilies cook for few minutes and garnish with coriander leaves..
Heat the oil in a frying pan over high heat until it's shimmering hot. Add the paneer, then turn the heat down a little. Matar paneer is a regular dish in Punjabi households. It is ubiquitious dish and goes very well rice, puri and rice. If made in pressure cooker the cooking time reques drastically.
